Queen of Hearts Rules
- 54 playing cards including two jokers are placed face down on a board, the cards are numbered one (1) through fifty (54) and are sealed to the board. Parkway Booster Club officers had no part in the card placement or securing the cards on the board.
- Once a card is selected, it will be turned over with the card face up on the board. If the Queen of Hearts is not selected the game will rollover to the next week. After the drawing, all tickets for that week’s drawing will be destroyed.
- The total prize pool will continue to accumulate weekly until the Queen of Hearts is drawn. The jackpot amount, based on ticket sales, will be updated on the Parkway Athletic Booster Clubs Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Second Crossing Brewery and Rockford Carryout may also promote the jackpot amounts on their Facebook and Instagram pages.
- Only 1 ticket will be drawn each week. The winner need not be present. When the drawing falls on a holiday, we will freeze the drawing until the following week. If the drawing time conflicts with an athletic event or any other event Parkway Booster Club officers have the discretion to change the time and/or location.
- Tickets are $1.00 per ticket, with no limit on the number of tickets that may be purchased. Tickets may be purchased immediately after the weekly drawing and up until 30 minutes prior to the next week’s drawing. Tickets will be able to be purchased at Second Crossing Brewery during their normal business hours and the Rockford Carryout during their normal business hours.
- All tickets must have your first name, last name, phone number, and card number you are choosing. If the name on the ticket is not legible, the ticket will be considered void. If a person does not put a number and/or name on their ticket, it will be an automatic rollover. If a ticket is pulled and it has a number that has already been taken, it is an automatic rollover and no money is distributed. EVERY TICKET IS AN ENTRY. DO NOT KEEP HALF.
- Should this raffle go the full 54 weeks and when we pull the last ticket it has an unavailable card number on it, we will pull another ticket.
- If you are present, your ticket is drawn, and your chosen card is the Queen of Hearts, the winner receives 50% of the Jackpot. In the event you are not present, your name is drawn, and you are the Queen of Hearts winner you will receive 25% of the Jackpot. The remaining 35% will be used as the starting amount for the next game. In either situation, 40% of the winning Jackpot will go to the Parkway Athletic Booster Club and 10% is rolled over to start the next jackpot. The Booster Club will have 5 days to distribute the Grand Prize Winnings after ticket sales are tabulated. All card winners other than the Queen of Hearts will be paid out immediately.
- If the Queen of Hearts is not drawn, the winning payouts are as follows: JOKERS $200, FACE CARDS or ACES $100, all other cards are $20.00. If you are not present for the drawing you will receive only half the amount and the other half will remain in the Jackpot.
- If a prize greater than $600 is awarded, the winner will need to confirm their identity and SSN by completing and signing IRS Form W-9. Prizes greater than $600 will be reported to the winner on IRS Form W-2G. Additionally, on prizes over $5,000, the IRS requires 24% federal withholding of the winning amount less the amount of the wager. No state or local tax withholdings will be done. Winnings will not be distributed until the winner presents 2 valid forms of identification.
- Booster Club officers, members, and any volunteers are eligible to participate and collect the prize money if they select the Queen of Hearts.
50/50 Rules
- 50/50 tickets will also be sold immediately after the weekly drawing and up until 30 minutes prior to the weekly drawing. These tickets will be available at Second Crossing Brewery and the Rockford Carryout during their normal business hours. 50/50 tickets are $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5, with no limit on the number of tickets.
- 50/50 tickets do not have to be filled out. Keep half the ticket and the other half of the ticket goes in the raffle bucket. The winner does not need to be present to win. We will call the number for the winner. The winner has until 30 minutes prior to the next week’s drawing to claim the winnings. If the money is not claimed by the next weeks drawing the money will roll over to that week’s 50/50 pot.
If you do not agree with the rules of this game, there is no obligation to play. Parkway Athletic Booster Club officers will address all discrepancies with the final say. The officers reserve the right to change or alter the rules of the game at any time as they deem appropriate.
